“If people came up with as many reasons to do something, as they do for not doing something, the world would be very different. And I’d be out of a job. Good!
For those of you old enough to remember.
“Hey LinkedIn connections, I’m here for you…uh, where did you go?”
The pictures you make in your head may be ruining your life…… Part Deux
The next time you are stressed try this method to de-stress.
Step 1: Ask yourself, “What am I feeling now?”
Step 2: Ask yourself, “What picture am I imagining?”
Step 3: Change the picture to a more empowering picture.
Yes, it is that simple. And if you practice this technique often, you’ll be surprised how automatic it becomes. And how much less anxious you feel.

The pictures you’re making in your head may be ruining your life!
Okay, maybe not ruining your life, but most definitely giving you grief! What causes anxiety? In part, negative thoughts about the future. What picture are you making in your head when you think of future events? Every single time you think of something, a picture forms in you head. If I say, purple elephant, your brain will conjure it. You don’t have a choice. That is how the brain works. Now think of that person you’d like to ask out. Do you see them saying yes? Do you see them falling into your arms? If that is what you are seeing, I guarantee you do not have any anxiety about asking them out. What you are feeling is excitement. Now, if you see the conversation going poorly, i.e. you “picture” them laughing at you, or walking away in disgust, okay, now you have anxiety.
Empowering pictures = no stress.
So the next time you are stressed about a future event such as running late for work, that business phone call you need to make or that doctor’s appointment- ask yourself, “What picture am I making in my head?” And see if you can’t make it a more positive, empowering picture.
It really is that simple.

Lie To Me Part-1
Lie To Me was a short-lived television series starring Tim Roth as a deception expert with the ability to detect when people were lying. He did this by carefully studying people’s body language. Our bodies are always communicating on either a conscious or sub-conscious level—whether through posture, breathing, micro-expressions (minute involuntary facial expressions) or eye movements—we are always saying something, and that “something” is usually an expression of our emotions or/and our thinking patterns.
